INDIANAPOLIS, IN - May 2012 – The leading North American fluid analysis provider, POLARIS Laboratories®, has been honored with an award for “Corporate IT Excellence and Innovation” by Indiana’s technology growth initiative organization, TechPoint.

TechPoint's Mira awards program is considered a critical function of growing entrepreneurship and advancing Indiana's tech sector.  The organization embraces the idea that identifying excellence and innovation is essential to sparking more growth.  The Mira Awards celebrate the state's top tech firms, as well as educators, institutions and other high-tech leaders, and highlights their success stories.This year, 122 technology companies, organizations and individuals entered the competition, which helped make it the largest class of nominees and finalists in the program's 13-year history.

POLARIS Laboratories® received this award at TechPoint’s 13th annual Mira Awards Gala, an event known as "Indiana's Technology Oscars."  The “Corporate IT Excellence & Innovation” award criteria was based on the organization’s ability to create a flexible, proprietary technology to accommodate rapidly evolving global business demands.  POLARIS Laboratories’® HORIZON® 4.0 software application is the fluid analysis industry’s most advanced online maintenance management tool, offering customers the information they need to make critical maintenance recommendations.

HORIZON® 4.0 was developed in-house following a comprehensive needs assessment analysis.  The redeveloped version of the program offers a multitude of new features and benefits.  It also offeres an opportunity to expand into the global marketplace that is growing much faster than the U.S. market.  HORIZON® 4.0 is faster, more intuitive/user friendly and has been translated into Dutch, French, Russian, Spanish and Portuguese.  It provides the user with access to a host of sophisticated management reports allowing users to make real-time, informed decisions.  In addition, HORIZON® 4.0 was developed to allow it to be branded with the style sheets of 85+ Private Label Programs offered by POLARIS Laboratories® for major companies located around the world.

HORIZON® 4.0 helps POLARIS Laboratories’® customers make the critical decisions that improve profitability by extending the life of their fluids (oil, fuel and coolant) and the life of their equipment.  In addition to helping customers improve profitability, HORIZON® 4.0 is also helping the environment by reducing waste through the extension of fluids and equipment life.  Customers have embraced the new program and continue to express their satisfaction with HORIZON® 4.0.
