RELY ON YOUR EQUIPMENT + AVOID DOWNTIME

When it comes to power generation, you don’t have time for failures. Failures are costly to both you and your customers and affect product and business. Routinely sampling your power generators can make sure that your equipment is there when you need it.

  • Down Down

    Minimize Component Wear

Through oil analysis, you can identify wear when it starts – minimizing the strain on your equipment and avoiding failures.

  • Monitor Viscosity Levels

Through oil analysis, you can monitor your fluid’s viscosity for optimum performance.

  • Ensure Fluids are Suitable

Through fluid analysis, you can monitor your fluid’s conditions to ensure oil, coolant and fuel are suitable when you need them.

  • Reduce Unscheduled Downtime

Through fluid analysis, you can predict your maintenance meaning you have less unscheduled, unplanned equipment downtime.

Predict Maintenance + Increase Equipment Reliability

Avoid failure and keep your power running by partnering with POLARIS Laboratories® for your regular fluid testing and analysis and condition monitoring. With fluid analysis, you can not only monitor conditions to ensure your system will be there when you need it, you can also predict when maintenance is actually needed based on the test results, rather than interval testing.

These systems need to be tested if you want them to be reliable and ready when you need them:

  • Landfill Gas Engines
  • Natural Gas Engines
  • Steam Turbines
  • Gas Turbines
  • Wind Turbines

OPTIMIZING INTERVALS IN ENERGY-PRODUCING TURBINES

Wind turbines are playing an increasingly important role in greener energy production. This means it is vital that these units operate at optimum capacity for longer periods.

FLUID TESTING FOR POWER GENERATION

OIL TESTING

Effective condition monitoring through oil analysis allows you to perform oil changes and necessary maintenance based on test results – what is actually happening within the unit – rather than on the basis of hours of operation or days elapsed on a calendar.

COOLANT TESTING

Coolant analysis takes the guess work out of properly maintaining a cooling system and can identify maintenance problems before catastrophic engine failure occurs. Bi-annual coolant testing and routine maintenance can help you achieve maximum system efficiency and ensure your back-up power works when you need it the most.

DIESEL FUEL TESTING

If your fuel is compromised, your generator start-up is at risk. When the fuel is used for emergency power, contamination and poor quality will stop diesel engines from working. Fuel analysis can identify causes for fuel filter plugging, smoking, loss of power, poor injector performance, malfunctioning throttle position sensors and sticking valves. Testing also confirms your diesel fuel’s sulfur content, biodiesel content and compliance with manufacturer specifications and standards for cleanliness that could affect equipment warranty requirements.
